Zimbabwe is endowed with so much mineral wealth that there is no single province without vast mineral deposits but it is amazing that we are sinking in this poverty. Furthermore we have so much intellectual capacity and hard workers that are running economies of our neighbours and other countries yet our country is in economic crisis.
This failure is caused by caliber of political leadership found in parties that had been elected in the past. Zimbabwe has been led by rulers and not leaders that are driven by desire to serve our country. This was said by the MDC President in Tovo 2 village in Vungu District Lower Gweru where he was addressing over 4000 MDC supporters.
“We have the entire minerals name them diamonds, gold, platinum, chrome, steel and so forth, but we are still poor, yet the wealth of the country benefits only the few in power. Our brothers end up running to other countries where they have demonstrated that they are hard workers and have the intellectual capacity to successfully run economies but here our problem is that we have ruthless and corrupt leadership that have amassed wealth corrupt, the wealth that should have made our lives better. Only in this MDC that we find leadership that desire to serve the people and not exploit them.” He said
The MDC leader went on to say the leadership that serves will put its self above will know that the ultimate power lies with the people. Tovo 2 village is the resettlement area was one of the Zanu PF strong holds and was a no go area for the MDC in the past elections.
In the same rally President Ncube welcomed ten war veterans led by Mr Nyoka that confessed of their past terror campaigns against the MDC supporters in the and asked for forgiveness. President Ncube welcomed them and emphasized the importance of peaceful campaigns and deplored violence as an inhumane behavior, he pleaded with the community not to revenge the past but accept the war veterans as they had come forward in their own evolution and confessed their sins.
“Yes in the past they did what they have confessed, but they have confessed and asked for forgiveness, may we forgive them and live in peace. We need peace to develop not only here in this community but throughout the country. Let’s forgive them and not seek vengeance, forgiveness heals” the President Said.
Before the rally the MDC Leadership handed over a gift of 350 blankets and baby wrappers. The Chief Executive Officer of the local council came to receive them on behalf of the community.
